Various Components of Asphalt Finisher:

Power Unit  

Kirloskar/Simpson or equivalent water/air cooled diesel engine is used. These engines are of adequate horse power with 12 volts electrical starting system.
   
Transmission  

Transmission is through a multiple clutch and a 4 speed gearbox to an auxiliary low, high & reverses Gearbox & differential unit provided with differential locking facility. Sprocket mechanism and roller chain control the final drive from differential to wheels. Option of hydraulic traction is also available.
   
Spreading Screws (Augers)  

Another hopper containing the augers receives the asphaltic concrete from the main hopper. With each side independent control these augers are adjustable to cover the full width of paved surface.
   
Optional Tamper  

Optional tamper effect the initial compaction of the material. Mounted on sturdy roller bearing these tamper is actuated by means of eccentric journals.
   
Screed  

Covering the full length of the paved width, a heated fully floating, hydraulically operated & vibrated screed is provided. Helpful in ensuring a predetermined thickness of asphaltic concrete layer by striking off the excess material, this screed is adjustable for height and camber.
   
Controls  

With easy operation, each control can be reached with the operator from comfortable driving seat.
   
General  

All the materials as brasion-resistant steels for hopper, conveyor, auger screws, tamper, screed etc., all gears and sprockets specification of the parts is as per ISI specification with requisite quality of steel and properly heat treated. With easy access to all parts for maintenance, inspection and overhaul has been given utmost important in the design.
