Type & Model

'Speedcrafts' Bitumen Mixer with model number SBM-10, 6/10 mt. per hour capacity and generally conforming to IS: 5890.

Power Unit

Powered by Kirloskar RB-33/Simpson S4 (I) water cooled diesel engine, which develops 41.5/37.5 bhp @ 1500 rpm with 12 V electric at starting. With a reduction gear box and power take off clutch, fitted in the unit you can always rely on the quality.

Feeder

Aggregates are discharged into drying cylinder through the feeding ring provided by Bucket elevator.

Drying Cylinder

Being 2mtrs in length and 0.70 mtrs in diameter these drying cylinders is fitted with replaceable lifting flights. It discharges heated aggregate into the storage ring, supported on two roller tracks and running on 4 nos. guide these are driven by chain and sprocket wheel.

Aggregate Burner

With approx of 28 ltrs/hr fuel consumption, this single burner is fitted discharge end of drying cylinder. Fuel consumption will be totally dependent on condition of aggregate. Fuel pumps are supplied to feel the fuel and air is supplied by means of air blower.

Air Blower

Driven by Engines via a v-belt, these are suitable for the burners provided.

Storage Ring

Being fixed to the Discharge end of drying cylinder with lifting buckets, these buckets discharges the hot aggregate into batching chute.

Batching Chute

Batching chute has fixed volume and is suitable designed. The discharge of hot aggregate from chute to paddle mixer is by means of a lever which carries out two operations simultaneously. Radial doors are opened to discharge the aggregate into paddle mixer and close a deflector plate at the top of chute to prevent any material being discharged into chute while radial door is opened. Also a thermometer is supplied to know the temperature in the chute.

Drum Hoist

For easy and convenient loading of bitumen from barrels into the boiler, a wire rope hoist is provided with lifting frame.

Bitumen Boiler

With a burner these bitumen boiler is of adequate capacity and have suitable heating arrangement, such that bitumen can't catch fire.

Blower supplies the air and molten bitumen is lifted by means of a bitumen pump through a pipeline into bitumen bucket. Approximate fuel consumption of bitumen burner is 11 ltrs/hr.

Bitumen Feed Pump

This bitumen pump is provided with bitumen boiler. These are driven by chain and sprocket from the line shaft.

Bitumen Bucket

A Calibrated bucket is provided to collect molten bitumen for discharge, as required in the pug mill. 3-way cock connection is used to meter the quantity of bitumen.

Mixing Drum

In separate paddle mixer type drum, aggregate and bitumen are mixed. These drums are fitted with two paddle shafts mounted with arms and tips which rotate in opposite directions. With gear driven shafts mounted on lubricated gunmetal bushes, the paddle tips are coated with special hard facing alloy for longer life & also are replaceable. This arrangement provides positive mixing and gives homogenous mix. The content is discharged through a door at bottom controlled by hand lever.

Chimney

Hot gases are drawn out through the chimney. A sliding door also collects the fine dust in chimney box. This dust may be fed back into the feeder. This chimney can be folded to facilitate transportation.

Chassis

The whole unit is mounted on a strong chassis of welded and bolted construction with rolled and folded steel sections and fitted with 4 nos. pneumatic tyres. Four strong mechanical parking jacks are fitted to the chassis.

Optional with Mobile Hot Mix Plant:  

  • Insulated Bitumen boiler with these plants.
  • Overrun and parking brakes.
  • Load out conveyor for hot mix material.
